Who We Are

When asked the question “who we are?” our answer is “The Body of Christ.” We are a group of people who come together as one body to serve our county when a disaster hits. In 2011, Bartow County was hit with a tornado that brought devastation to many small communities. When everyone else left, churches were asked to step up and accept the call of supplying for the needs of the people. Churches no longer cared about denominations but cared for those who were hurt. From this time on we have called this group, the Bartow Christian Disaster Recovery team.

Purpose: The purpose of our team is to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs in theĀ Name of Jesus of every person impacted by a community disaster. Disasters will include: tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, snow and ice, earthquakes, etc…

Plan: Our plan is to build and main a Disaster Recovery Team that is representative of the Body of Christ in Bartow County. This team is composed of people from across the body who are committed to doing everything in Jesus’ name.

Goals: Communication to Identification to Mobilization to Coordination

“And whoever gives one of these little ones only a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple, assuredly, I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward” Matthew 10:42
